OVERVIEW: Hero banners honor the community's first responders, veterans, currently serving military, those killed in the line of duty or in action, and those missing in action.

DURATION:  Banners will be rotated as suitable locations within the Township is limited.  Depending on demand, space available, wear and tear, and resources to install and remove, individual banners are expected to be displayed for approximately two years. Unforeseen damage may also shorten lifespan. Upon banner retirement, efforts will be made to transfer the banner to the requester.

COST:  Currently, the cost per banner & hardware is $225, paid for by the requester.  This cost may fluctuate as actual costs are realized. Donations received for this program and hardware reutilization may decrease or potentially eliminate costs to requesters.

Supported by the Springfield community and Township, the program is managed by the Springfield American Legion Post 227.
